A Lidl Imitation: Blitzed in reverse
The Liquid Capitalism collection highlights the impacts of capitalism on nature and consumption, inspired by Andy Warhol's Campbell soup cans that he began in the pop art of the 1960s.
A Lidl Imitation (Capitalism’s concentrated soup): ‘More British than British’– Blitzed in reverse sends up the more recent German blitzkrieg of Britain by Lidl and Aldi, where an already saturated market for supermarkets was added to by a more recent and benevolent German invasion. The German retailing behemoths have come to dominate through unbranded and fake branded products at incredible value, while flying the Union Jack from all windows and packaging.
