My Digital Miseducation
My Digital Miseducation draws on a combination of the habits of our time. Firstly, our present screen addiction that will surely become an anomaly in the future to look back on, as we return to nature 😊. Secondly, the unprecedented power and wealth of the Goliath’s of our age, the surveillance capitalist tech companies, mostly based in California.
Like others in the series, this piece is designed to start a conversation about social behaviours and new norms, while drawing on the wisdom of our literary classics to discuss what is going on in this confusing world. Parody book covers include, Instaglam: Selfie Improvement by Kim Kardashian, On the Net (instead of On The Road), The Importance of [Wilde] Being on Grindr, and Swallows and Amazon Prime.
There are more than 40 titles to enjoy, as we reflect on this digital age. This composition is set in the basement of our lives where the data of our very imagination is cabled off to Alphabet, Meta and Musk in California. However, this is also a positive capsule of our contemporary history. For you to hang in your ‘chuckle corner’, for your friends to enjoy when they come to visit. Thank you for joining me; lets chuckle now.
