Collection: CAFFIENDS: Coffee Identities

We are a nation united under one addiction. Well, loads actually. Definitely caffeine; oh and sugar. Processed sugar replaced hunger as the biggest killer in the twentieth century. Caffeine is the legal high that serves the system; it helps us to focus and be more productive. We can then make a contribution to society, or at least to keep all the new coffee shops open, especially those that don't pay their taxes.
This collection was inspired by the hundreds of products in the Seattle Coffee Company, where there used to be just white coffee and white tea. Especially, when Starbucks/WeKeepOurBucks started to ask your name in the queue and then shout it out when you had paid and were on first name terms. The choice is mesmerising. A product range designed like a crack chemist to needle your addictive tendencies and vulnerabilities.
What is the coffee product that really defines you as a human being? In this collection there are three major compositons. The original 'Take Out', 'Drink In', and simply 'Shoot Up'. Each has sixteen Identities; for instance, 'Extra Hot & Skinny' with the barista's feverish notes, 'free danish, or anything'; 'Sweet Privilege' (queuing unnecessary, credit available), which describes the white middle-class male sailing through life without trouble; and 'Americano is Black' (#blackcoffeematters), which is Biden's moniker for 2020 America.
This collection is currently being exhibited in numerous independently-minded coffee shops; if you would like to see more examples - 'Coffee Identities' are available individually - please see my socials and contact me via Instaglam or through my contact form (below)
